The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) participated in one of the main Ibero-American forums on country brands and territorial positioning, where it presented the region’s experience as a successful model of multi-destination tourism promotion
The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency participated in the Branding Spain LATAM Forum 2026, an international meeting that brought together specialists, institutions, companies and academics to exchange experiences and analyze trends in the management of country brands, territories and positioning strategies in Latin America.
On behalf of the region, Boris Iraheta, Secretary General of CATA, shared Central America’s experience as a model for multi-destination tourism promotion, highlighting the coordinated work among the countries of the region to build a shared identity and strengthen the positioning of the Central America brand in international markets.
During her speech, Iraheta highlighted the joint actions developed by the region to boost its tourism competitiveness, as well as the ability of Central American destinations to project themselves under a common strategy that enhances their individual strengths and generates greater global visibility.
The 2026 edition of the forum brought together more than 3,500 participants, including both in-person and virtual attendees, featured representatives from nine nationalities, and was broadcast simultaneously in 14 countries, with the support of 28 universities in Latin America and Spain.
The event also brought together 40 organizing and collaborating institutions, along with experts in the fields of branding, communication, academia and territorial management, consolidating itself as one of the main spaces for the exchange of knowledge and best practices on brand building and positioning in Latin America.
